Timpla Pinas Arabica Dark Roast Coffee

Reasons why You Should Try Arabica, Barako, and Robusta

If there's a coffee type that deserves the title "instant", that must be these three -- Instant probinsya feels.

Here at Timpla Pinas, we have been selling the dark roasted coffee line since the beginning (for Arabica, Barako, and Robusta). To most of the Filipinos, there's not much of a difference between these three. We often associate any traditional coffee (regardless of its grind) to Barako.

"Uy, barako. Masarap 'yan." Kahit na Arabica Medium Roast naman yung iniinom ko. Or sometimes, we don't even care if its finely ground, medium, or coarse. Basta hindi Nescafe or any instant coffee, pakukuluan natin lahat 'yan.

But that is not actually the case, Kapemilya. There  are a few points that we have to know if we want to enjoy the most flavorful and healthy cup of coffee everyday.

How can I differentiate these three?

In this blog, let me present to you the difference between the three classic coffee types. Remember, though, that all natural coffee are strong, you just have to find you best match!

Arabica probably is my second favorite. Strange that I mentioned it first? That is because it is strong but Barako, my favorite, is stronger and directly bitter. Personally, I love my coffee strong than creamy. I can even drink a coffee without sugar. That's why I'm more inclined to Barako.

Arabica is the best choice still, as it's giving a flavorful, sensational, aromatic taste with a hint of chocolate that you can not find in Barako and Robusta. It's physically lighter, especially when roasted dark. That's why you would notice its drip bag looks fuller than the other types (if you've ordered our Sampler pouch).

But if you are someone that is not much of a fan of extravagantly strong coffee, you might prefer Robusta as it's the least bitter. It is earthy and winey that brings you to far off land in an instant. Have you tried McDonald's brewed coffee? They taste the same. I think they're using this type.
